 Under the Sea

This quilt hung on my design wall for several years. It took the pandemic for me to finally complete it. It is a large piece measuring 42" x 72".

I have always loved the sea and this was an opportunity for me to incorporate all the wonders under sea.

The embellishments and beading were done by hand.  This is an original design.

Koi PondA small study in color .

Harbor Reflections

This panel was a free motion quilting experiment. The piece was done by Norm Olson for Northcott.

Summers Solstice

Wool applique piece done by hand. Embellishments and beading were also done by hand.
The piece is 30" x30" inches .

Humming Birds

This wall hanging was made from a panel that had humming birds featured on it. I also made placemats that featured each humming bird.

Sashiko Rows

The final bedspread made out of the Sashiko Squares. I used the indigo blue and white fabrics that I had collected in my stash over the years to make the rows.
Then I incorporated the blocks into the quilt.
The blocks had applique red dots on them. There were many different sashiko panels. Some were 8" squares , some 3" squares
and some were long ribbons of design.

The back art on it; was of the left over blocks
that I could not part with.

The back shows the quilting motif of snow blossoms.

The Gig Harbor Quilt

This quilt was done from same cartoon that the split quilt was made from.
It is much smaller  (24" x 24" ) and has different color scheme. It has borders and a flap binding. The water reflections were done with Angelina fibers.

Sachiko

Some examples of sachiko blocks done during our southern California vacation. I made them as they were small and could done in the car. I plan to make them into a quilt.

Sea Studies

These sea studies were done on a woven background. The background was made of fabric strips that had Wonder-Under on them. The stripes were then pressed down and design was appliqued on them.
The beading was added as embellishment.

Pin Cushions

This collection of pin cushion was made for the Guild Boutique Shop. I used dessert cups that I had collected.

Seascapes from the Art Quilters

This creation was the gift of the Art Quilters of Gig Harbor. Each row was done by a different artist. The top one was done by me. It set the idea of the rows. The next one was done Kathy. The third one was done by Trisha, The fourth one was a Jonna creation. The fifth one was done by Lynn . The sixth one was done by Jan and the last one was done by Colene. It was our yearly challenge and it was a challenge getting all the bags around to all the girls.

 Chair Caddy

A nifty caddy that holds all the tools needed for wool applique. This was made from a kit, but I used my own fabrics. It is a handy thing to take to the Woolies meetings. Woolies meets once a month at Pam Binns House.

Seasonal Houses

This little wool applique piece was done to prove that I could design my own pieces. I made each block and embellished it with all the little notions. It measures 24" x 24".

Gig Harbor Strip Quilt

This quilt was done by talented ladies of The Gig Harbor Art Quilters . The drawing was divided into eight pieces. Then the women each did a section. We then sewed together the pieces, and quilted and bound the piece. The women were Jan Sachs, Trisha Dolge, Lynne White, Jonna Graham, Donna Blum, Kathy Kostco, Delaine Gately and Colene Acker.
