○Gig Harbor View

Gig Harbor - Commencement Bay, WA

This was our view at night from the bedroom window. The scene was made on a piece of marbleized fabric. Many of the communities are different types of  beads. The houses on the hillside were made with square sequins. The trees were done as silhouettes.

The ferry boat and barge with the tug boat were done entirely with hand beading. The piece was free-motion quilted. The piece measures 24" by 42".

 Under the Sea

This quilt hung on my design wall for several years. It took the pandemic for me to finally complete it. It is a large piece measuring 42" x 72".

I have always loved the sea and this was an opportunity for me to incorporate all the wonders under sea.

The embellishments and beading were done by hand.  This is an original design.

Harbor Reflections

This panel was a free motion quilting experiment. The piece was done by Norm Olson for Northcott.

Summers Solstice

Wool applique piece done by hand. Embellishments and beading were also done by hand.
The piece is 30" x30" inches .

Humming Birds

This wall hanging was made from a panel that had humming birds featured on it. I also made placemats that featured each humming bird.

Sashiko Rows

The final bedspread made out of the Sashiko Squares. I used the indigo blue and white fabrics that I had collected in my stash over the years to make the rows.
Then I incorporated the blocks into the quilt.
The blocks had applique red dots on them. There were many different sashiko panels. Some were 8" squares , some 3" squares
and some were long ribbons of design.

The back art on it; was of the left over blocks
that I could not part with.

The back shows the quilting motif of snow blossoms.
